AHRQ Profiles the Success of Cielo MedSolutions' Clinical Quality Management Systems

Healthcare Software, available as Cielo Clinic^TM, recognized for transforming the quality of clinical care

ANN ARBOR, MI – April 30, 2008 – The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), a division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, has recently profiled the success of ClinfoTracker, now known as Cielo Clinic^TM, in its Health Care Innovators Exchange database. The entry, which can be found at http://www.innovations.ahrq.gov/content.aspx?id=1771, details the success of the Clinical Quality Management System (CQMS) developed by researchers at the University of Michigan Health System and implemented at the university's Department of Family Medicine clinics.

The article cites that use of the software "substantially increased the delivery of targeted screening, prevention, and disease management services, resulting in improved clinical quality scores." Among their successes, the department's providers were able to double the rate of their cancer screening, triple their rate of pediatric lead screening, and achieve a 90 percent rate for the majority of HEDIS® clinical measures for diabetes care.
