Cielo MedSolutions Announces Partnership with MyCareTeam

Cielo Clinic to integrate with MCT-Diabetes to allow patients and care providers to collaborate and monitor glucose levels across the Internet.

Ann Arbor, MI - September 17, 2009 - Cielo MedSolutions LLC, a leading provider of clinical quality management systems for ambulatory care providers and MyCareTeam, a provider of diabetes management solutions, today announced a partnership to provide a unique solution for managing patients with diabetes.

Through this partnership, MyCareTeam's award-winning solution for remotely monitoring glucose levels across the Internet will be connected to Cielo Clinic, allowing providers to receive a patient's home-measured glucose readings directly into Cielo Clinic's registry. Providers will also be able to directly enroll patients in MCT-Diabetes, a patient-facing web-based diabetes management tool.

A recent study published in the May 2009 issue of Diabetes Science and Technology has shown that an increase in patient-health care practitioner (HCP) interaction is linked to the successful treatment and management of diabetes. When managing diabetes using software products like MCT-Diabetes to modify behavior, patients generally enjoy better health than those who do not. In fact, the Diabetes Control and Complications Trial (DCCT) study at the National Institute of Health (NIH) demonstrated that individuals with Type 1 diabetes who maintain normal blood glucose levels can slow the onset and progression of eye, kidney, and nerve diseases caused by diabetes.
