Cielo Clinic Qualified to Report PQRI E-Prescribing Measures

Cielo Clinic now qualified for both e-prescribing and quality measures

Ann Arbor (June 24, 2010) - Cielo MedSolutions LLC, a provider of clinical quality management solutions, has announced today that their flagship product, Cielo Clinic, was approved to submit Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI) e-prescribing measures to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on behalf of care providers.

Established in 2007 by CMS, PQRI (Physician Quality Reporting Initiative) establishes a financial incentive for eligible professionals to participate in a voluntary quality reporting program. Eligible healthcare professionals who successfully report PQRI quality measures may earn an incentive of up to 2.0% of total allowed charges for covered Medicare physician fee schedule services. Reporting PQRI e-prescribing measures can provide an additional incentive of up to 2.0% of total allowed charges for covered Medicare physician fee schedule services.

To take advantage of this opportunity, Cielo Clinic users simply need to implement the e-prescribing module (available for an additional charge) and e-prescribe through it. Cielo Clinic manages the data required for this incentive payment and submits it on a provider's behalf to CMS.
